Governor Greg Abbott has selected the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality as the lead agency responsible for the administration of funds received from the Volkswagen State Environmental Mitigation Trust. Once Texas is certified as a beneficiary of this Trust, a minimum of $209 million dollars will be made available over the next ten years for projects that reduce nitrogen oxides (NOx) in the environment.
