Communications Coordinator

Lone Star Clean Fuels Alliance (LSCFA), a small non-profit in Austin, Texas is hiring a  Communications Coordinator. We work to make the transportation sector more sustainable,  cleaner and greener. We work with businesses, governmental agencies and other  organizations to facilitate their vehicle transition away from petroleum toward more  sustainable, less-polluting technologies and fuels including electricity, hydrogen, natural gas  and propane. Our organization is part of the US Department of Energy’s Clean Cities network. 

Each person at LSCFA is an important part of the team. Our organization is small, with three  staff based in the Austin area. We work remotely from home most days and meet in person for  collaborative work sessions 2 to 3 times per week. 

 

Location:

Must live in or close to Austin with reliable transportation to meet 2-3 times per week  in person for meetings and/or events in the Austin area. 

 

Candidate:

The Communications Coordinator is a hands-on job for an energetic, dependable  candidate who possesses attention to detail, solid written and verbal communication skills and  the ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time. The chosen candidate will be an  integral part of the daily communications and organizational operations and will work closely  with the Director to create and implement educational outreach events. This is a long-term  position.

The chosen candidate has a unique opportunity as  a key partner in the organization’s growth while expanding their own role. The Communications Coordinator will help LSCFA make a difference in the area’s air quality and in  reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

 

Skills And Qualifications:

Education 

  • A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience, OR An associate’s degree or high school diploma combined with a combination of relevant work experience and/or coursework.

 

Skills / Qualifications 

  • Team Player and Self-Starter: Ability to work collaboratively while also taking initiative Strong Project Manager: Detail-oriented with strong time management skills Effective Communicator: Proficient in email and phone communication with stakeholders, and the Board of Directors
  • Organized & Efficient: Skill in identifying and implementing process improvements. Curious: Eager to learn about cleaner fuels and electric vehicles
  • Familiar with Relevant Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, WordPress, MailChimp, Canva or similar tools
  • Creative Marketing & Communications Materials: Experienced in turning simple copy into interesting digital and print communications

 

Primary Responsibilities include: 

  • Create monthly newsletters in collaboration with Director
  • Identify opportunities for events, webinars, and site visits
  • Develop and execute outreach strategies to promote upcoming events with Director Update the organization’s website (using WordPress & Elementor) and manage engaging social media content
  • Assist Director in preparing for quarterly Board meetings and quarterly reporting Invoice, process and track member dues and event sponsorships
  • Maintain accurate mailing lists and stakeholder databases

 

Job Type:

Part-Time – 20 hours per week 

 

Salary:

$18 – $20 per hour (depending on experience)
